Specialised in architectural illustration, I bring ideas to life through storytelling and visuals, turning complex concepts into accessible, engaging images that make people smile.
My name is Nerea Bermejo Olaizola, but you can call me Bermi. I’m based between London (UK) and Irun, in the Basque Country. My background as an architect deeply influences the way I draw, think and approach each project.
I studied architecture at the Higher Technical School of Architecture in San Sebastián, spent a year in Rome sketching its beautiful ruins, and lived ten years in London, where I developed my passion for illustration.
As a visualiser and illustrator, I specialise in creating detailed visual representations of buildings, places and concepts, helping people imagine spaces before they’re built. I collaborate with councils, architects, landscape architects, urban designers, graphic designers and changemakers, translating their ideas into warm, accessible visuals that resonate with communities.
My illustrations are used in presentations, marketing materials, and even in planning applications and public consultations. Some of my work is displayed publicly in London and the Basque Country, through murals, hoardings and educational panels.
Beyond architecture, I enjoy working on creative projects such as vibrant illustrated maps, public campaigns and children’s books – two of which have been published by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In 2019, one of my illustrations was exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London.
Most of my clients are based in the UK and the Basque Country, and I work fluently in English, Spanish and Basque.
